Enovid and Frank Colton

Carl Djerassi

The birth control pill was introduced to the public in the early 1960s. Birth control pills are synthetic hormones that mimic the way real estrogen and progestin works in a women's body. The pill prevents ovulation - no new eggs are released by a women on the pill since her body is tricked into believing she is already pregnant.

Margaret Sanger was a lifelong advocate of women's rights and the use of birth control. During the 1930s, it was discovered that hormones prevented ovulation in rabbits. In 1950, while in her 80s, Sanger underwrote the research necessary to create the first human birth control pill. Sanger raised $150,000 for the project.

NHD Thesis Paragraph

Birth control pills which were introduced in the 1960's has had a huge impact on human population. Birth control pills were a easier way to stay safe from unwanted pregnancy. The pills were made of synthetic hormones that mimic the way real estrogen and progestin works in a women's body. They are made to prevent ovulation- meaning no new eggs are released by a women on the pill since her body is tricked into believing she is already pregnant. Once this innovation was introduced to the world their became less pregnant women and girls giving their children away and hanging abortions. Without birth control pills there would be a whole lot of homeless people and stressful mothers who are struggling to make ends meet and who's boyfriends have left them all alone.

The Bill of Rights is a declaration of individual rights and freedoms, usually issued by a national government . A list of fundamental rights included in each state constitution. My three favorite amendments are #1.Freedom of speech, Religion, and Petition, #2. Right to Bear arms, and the right to trial by jury#7.I chose amendment number one because i believe that everyone should be able to chose their religion and be able to say what ever they feel. I chose number 2 because I think it is important for people to be able to protect your self. I also chose amendment 7 because I believe that everyone should be able to have the same rights.

One thing that has a tremendous effect on society today is gang violence. Gang violence goes on through out our world and is the cause of many tragic deaths. In different parts of the world their are gangs that mark areas as their territories; many fights between gangs usually have to do with claiming their territories and arguments over unnecessary things such as what type of colors you have on that may represent another gang, what u wear, and where you came from or where you live now. Usually a gang consists of people who come from broken homes and are not getting any love from home so they turn to the streets for love and trusts complete strangers because they promise to help and protect them. Although in the beginning a gang may not seem so bad to you it may seem like a group of friends who just hang out side all the time but its not, in most cases gang member are selling drugs, and jumping people. If your in a gang I strongly suggest that you think about all the people that are getting hurt because of what you and your "friends" do and maybe try to get out of the group or try to influence your "friends" in a more positive way.
